Lithium Concrete Hardener Product Data Sheet
Lithium Concrete Hardener (also known as Lithium Sealed Hardener, Lithium Densifier) is a water-based liquid hardener composed primarily of nano-scale lithium silicate materials. It penetrates deeply into the concrete surface (penetration depth up to 3-7mm) and chemically reacts with free calcium ions in the concrete to form insoluble calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H), which fills the capillary pores, creating a dense, hard, dust-proof permanent hardened layer. The product is VOC-free, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic. Treated concrete surfaces remain breathable, form no surface film, and will not peel or yellow .
Performance Characteristics
Deep Penetration: Lithium ions have smaller molecular size than sodium/potassium ions, enabling deeper penetration and more complete reaction
Permanent Hardening: Irreversible chemical reaction with concrete, hardness increases over time and with use
Effective Dustproofing: Completely seals concrete capillaries, eliminates floor dusting problems
Enhanced Wear Resistance: Wear resistance increased by 30-50%, surface Mohs hardness reaches 6-8
Impermeability Protection: Effectively resists water, oil, and chemical penetration; reduces chloride ion ingress
Gloss Enhancement: Achieves high-gloss mirror finish when combined with polishing process
Non-Film Forming: No surface coating formed, no risk of peeling or yellowing
Breathability: Maintains concrete's breathability, allows moisture to escape
ASR Resistance: Lithium ions effectively inhibit alkali-silica reaction (ASR), extending concrete service life
Low VOC: VOC content <50g/L, meets green building certification requirements
Scope of Application
Industrial Floors: Warehouses, distribution centers, production workshops, heavy-load forklift aisles
Commercial Spaces: Supermarkets, shopping malls, exhibition halls, office buildings
Public Facilities: Hospitals, schools, museums, parking lots
Cold Storage/Freezers: Resists freeze-thaw cycle damage
Food Processing Plants: Odorless, non-toxic, easy to clean
New/Old Concrete Floors: Suitable for newly poured or existing floor renovation
Emery Aggregate Floors: As surface sealing treatment
Terrazzo/Artificial Stone: Enhances surface hardness and gloss

Mechanism of action
The core technology of Lithium Concrete Hardener lies in the reaction between lithium silicate and free calcium:
Penetration: Lithium ions (Li+) have small molecular size, enabling deep penetration into concrete capillaries
Reaction: Li2SiO3 + Ca(OH)2→ CaSiO2 (C-S-H) + 2LiOH
Lithium silicate reacts with calcium hydroxide in concrete to form insoluble calcium silicate (calcium silicate hydrate gel)
Filling: The generated C-S-H gel fills capillary pores, densifying the concrete
Hardening: Reduced porosity significantly improves surface hardness and wear resistance
Continuous Enhancement: Reaction continues over time, performance continuously improves
Advantages over traditional sodium/potassium-based hardeners:
Smaller lithium ions enable deeper penetration
More stable reaction products, no efflorescence
Does not increase alkali content, effectively inhibits ASR risk
Higher surface gloss after treatment
New Concrete Floors
Curing Period: Cure concrete for 7-28 days after pouring, ensure complete hardening
Surface Preparation: Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free of oil/grease
First Application: Apply uniformly with low-pressure sprayer, coverage 0.2-0.4 kg/m2
Penetration Reaction: Keep surface wet for >30 minutes, light brushing can aid penetration
Remove Excess: Remove excess material with squeegee or vacuum
Drying: Allow 24 hours for natural drying
Second Application (Optional): Apply second coat for higher hardness
Polishing (Optional): Combine with grinding/polishing process for high gloss
Existing Floor Renovation
Grinding: Open grind with metal or resin diamond tools to remove old coatings and contaminants
Cleaning: Thorough vacuuming to ensure clean surface
Hardener Application: Apply as above method
Fine Grinding: Progressive polishing with different grit sizes
Protection: Optional application of polishing aid or sealer
Precautions
Application Temperature: 5℃-40℃
DO NOT Dilute: Product is ready-to-use, do not dilute with water
Avoid Freezing: Product freezes below 0℃, can be used normally after thawing
Protection: Wear protective goggles and gloves during application
